New Era of Continued Excellence at University of Abuja

The appointment of Prof. Aisha Maikudi as Acting Vice-Chancellor of the University of Abuja marks a new era of hope and optimism for the institution. Her exceptional leadership qualities, academic excellence, and managerial experience make her the ideal choice to build on the achievements of her predecessor and propel the university to greater heights.

Prof. Maikudi's appointment has been met with widespread acclaim from faculty, students, and staff, who look forward to her transformative leadership, innovative ideas, and commitment to excellence. As a distinguished scholar of Law, she embodies the wisdom of Aristotle's words, "We must become what we wish to teach," inspiring generations with her unwavering commitment to excellence.

I had the privilege of getting to know Prof. Maikudi through Prof. Misbau Lateef, a teacher of Law at the University of Hull, United Kingdom, who has been a mentor and guide in my career switch. Prof. Lateef introduced me to her, and I have been fortunate to have her as a model cum mentor, inspiring me with her unwavering commitment to duty and academic excellence.

With her unique blend of vision, passion, and expertise, Prof. Maikudi is poised to foster a conducive learning environment, inspiring students and faculty to strive for excellence. Her leadership style is a perfect blend of grace, intelligence, and firmness.

On a personal level, I have witnessed her exceptional qualities firsthand. She has demonstrated unwavering commitment to duty and a true spirit of mentorship. Her dedication to duty was evident in her support for the Public Lecture and book presentation program I organized on June 3rd 2024 for the outgoing Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Abdul-Rasheed Na'Allah. She would call to check on my preparation, expressing her concern about the attendance, given the challenges posed by the ASUU and management issues at the time.

Her appointment marks a significant milestone in the institution's history, and we look forward to her leadership, innovative ideas, and commitment to excellence. Under her leadership, the University of Abuja is poised to reach new heights, and we are honored to be part of this journey.
