ACW-UA PRESS : Uniabuja Students Resume After Prolong ASUU Strike.

As students resumes from the strike, expectation increases.

Our correspondence, Shehu Musa a member of Association of Creative Writers - University of Abuja (ACW-UA), spoke with a couple of students.

When asked how was the strike and their expectations for the semester.

Ifeanyi Okechukwu a student of Biology Education, speaking to our correspondent said, "I resumed on Monday (24th). The school is still empty. Students are yet to resume fully. Lectures haven't begin fully" he said.

A 100Level student of History of Diplomatic Studies who identified himself as, Amos Joda said, "I resumed yesterday (Thursday last week) and I have had two lectures so far. The university is fine. I love the environment".

Angela Udoh, a student of English and Literary Studies said, "I feel excited to be back. I am happy to be back to school and see my friends again. I just hope that we do not go to strike again" She said.

Some students however, expressed indifference, according to them, they had hoped the strike will continue till next year, and they had planned to resume next year, only to be called back three months to the end of the year.

Our correspondent also made efforts to speak to a staff - who wished to be anonymous.

He said, that the strike was long and tiring. He hoped that students resume quickly as lectures have commenced.

Finally, some faculty have been moved to the permanent site, from Mini Campus, like the Faculty of Law.

Though, majority of law students expressed dissatisfaction on the new development.

As at the time of writing this report, the decision of the University management still stands and all efforts to reach to the Law Student Association of Nigeria, University of Abuja Chapter President proved abortive.
