In a statement signed by his Personal Secretary on Media and Publicity, Mr Solomon Tosin Adetosoye, he admonished new students to avoid unnecessary distraction, focus on the best and work for it. He admonished them to work hard as success lies in the hand of the one who works hard. He stated, " The university is a place to explore but know, in your exploit strive to be among the best, and this is done by Hardwork and diligence .
To returning students, He said," I must admonish you and crave your indulgence to keep up the good work, continue in the struggle for excellence. It may not be easy but keep it up". He also added that, "those who had missed the track should retrace their steps as the future lie from the path of today"
The President preached for corporation and due sense of honestly among students and in the relationship between staffs and students.
He admonished students to turn from negative and unhealthy vices which does not edify, he added with his popular propounded quote, "IF YOU DO THINGS WITHOUT RESPECT FOR THE FUTURE, THE FUTURE SHALL TREAT YOU WITH CONTEMPT".
The President specially welcomed all members of the Association, ACW-UA.
He said, " I am indeed proud of all Acwuans. Acwuans has lead the mark and has being the vanguard for others to trail behind in Academia and Character. A good number of Acwuans are topping their departments and class with atleast a 4.5CGPA. This is one of the very resilient attributes of an Acwuan.
I welcome you and I must confess, I am indeed proud of you."
He energized them to continue in the great work and improve in themselves. He also promised to sponsor an all expense paid picnic for any member of the Association, who comes out with an excellent result of First Class this semester and academic year.
The President, Prince Ezeabata appreciated the effort of the school management in their tireless bid to improve on the welfare, wellbeing and academic prowess of the students. He said, "The school management head by our amiable Vice Chancellor, Professor Abdulrasheed Na'Allah has been up to task in making our institution reformed, it is therefore left on the students to put their quota, however, the gross increase in tuition fees is a thorn in the flesh of students "
In conclusion, the President of ASSOCIATION OF CREATIVE WRITERS - University of Abuja - ACW-UA stated that, "The Association would not relent in its mission and aim to rejuvenate, improve and imbibe the spirit of Creativity and intellectual power among young Nigerians who are keen into becoming the best of themselves, for the society, nation and the world. In ACWUA we bring out the best in you because we believe that the future of this generation, this nation and the world lies on the shoulders of young minds"
