FACULTY OF SOCIAL SCIENCE ELECTION. ELECTION UPDATE

NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF SOCIAL SCIENCE STUDENTS (Faculty of Social Sciences) Election took place on the 4th of November, 2019. It was scheduled to start by 10:00am but unfortunately started by 12:30pm due to some delay in the arrangement .The turn up was amazing to the extent it was becoming over crowded.
Many of the electorate complained that the whole process of the election was just too slow mainly because they had one entrance to cast their vote.According to one of the voters,"the whole act was as usual ROUGH and IN DISORDER".
"There is partiality in entrance!!!Some selected individuals were given easy access to vote while others were compelled to follow the long queue",Anonymous.
According to Onyeka Melifonwu,an electorate,300l pol.science,"the election was calm and peaceful".
A voter, Richard Edime,200l sociology student, speaking to correspondence said "... the election was okay, however there was a lot of struggle on the polling unit diue to the rowdy crowd", ".. , however the whole voting process was peaceful,". She added.
A 100 level Political Science student, who identified himself as "Es-Kay" said., " I overheard an aspirant telling one of the electorate to vote if possible seven times and that he(the aspirant)will settle and back him up".
It was observed that, Campaign was going on during the electioneering process, A respondent who plead Anonymous has this to say, "this is not a real and true election because campaign was not just allowed on the election day but also on the polling unit!!!"
The ELCOM Chairman was seen trying to calm most of the electorate who almost had a fight while campaigning for their candidates.
It was observed that OPEYEMI AMUDA popularly known as HYPEMAN SOCRATE a 400Level Political Science Student, was a source of nuisance, he was alleging, that the election process was not inorder and there is inability to deliver electoral policies. He also said most of the agents were trying to form capacity by imposing their candidates on others.
FEMI,one of the Election Observe, a 400Level Economics Student said, expressed his pleasure and satisfaction, he stated that "the whole process went well.There was no atom of injustice or malpractice.The voters came in through one way and were all screened before voting."
Speaking with the ELECTORAL COMMITTEE (ELECOMM) CHAIRMAN, Ovansa Charles Adavise, he admonished that, "the whole process was smooth and though not really easy.No abnormality was recorded. The use security was fully on ground to maintain law and order.There was no cause for any alarm".
Dozie Ezikael, an Electorate of the dept. of political Sciencs ,300Level said"the whole thing was a big stress due to the way it was planned.There were too many voters so to coordinate was not easy but the elcom committee did a very nice job"
Gladys popularly known as ALUTA MAMA,an aspirant for the position of the Vice President concluded, "it wasn't easy you know being an aspirant and bringing people to vote for you but thank God everything went well".
