Theft is no longer a new thing in the Hostel, in short it has become a tradition. On the Wednesday, 6th of November 2019, at about 11 to 12.00am two students were caught stealing bottles of soft drinks locally known as Mineral from a local grocery market popularly called " Kigali" at the Boys Hostel. Mini Campus.
Speaking with a stock trader, identified as Chika, she stated that, "... na so they come thief minerals for that calaber woman shop o, but thank God say they caught them.". when asked where are the boys, she stated that, "they carry them go Crime Unit"
The woman who was a victim of the theft, narrated her ordeals with our correspondence, she said that she packed her shocks after the day sells into sacks and packaged them safely however, she only but left the Crates of Minerals.
She opened her shop for the day been today and was told that two boys broke in but thanks to the swiftness of the Security Men stationed at the Hostel. They were caught timely, she mentioned that one of them was a 300Level student. She however stated her disapproval that the Boys have been lead free and no action taken to sanction them. Contrary to the responses of the neighboring shop owner.
Effort to have an audience to security officers in the Hostel proved abortive.
The one who spoked to the Press, denied having knowledge of the incident.
