Following a report of suspected cases of chicken pox at the old girls' hostel (main campus), the Students Union Government said the measures have been put in place to prevent an outbreak.

ACW-UA Press reports that the SUG had earlier notified the students of cases reported at the school health centre.

In a phone call with ACW-UA Press, the SUG President, Abdullah Bashir Muhammad,  said, “I was at the centre. It has been confirmed. Aside from awareness, measures have already been put in place to prevent an outbreak.”

The memo earlier released reads: “This is to officially bring to the notice of all students that there has been three reported cases of chicken pox in the old girls hostel.

“Chicken pox is a highly infectious disease. Hence,  we would like all students to be very cautious to prevent an outbreak.

“If you notice symptoms of chicken pox in yourself, please immediately report to the school clinic with or without a clinic card.

“Main Symptoms include: Fever, itchy, blistering rash that spreads all over the body, tiredness, etc.

“Please note that if you haven't had chicken pox before you are highly susceptible to getting it, so let's be very careful.

“If you have any issues with any personnel in the school clinic, do not hesitate to contact the hostel representative of your hostel and the contacts attached to this info.”
