WINNER OF THE ACW-UA POETRY DISCOURSE
I write to you with immense pleasure and anticipation as we gather to unveil the winner of our poetry discourse. The journey through the verses and eloquence of words has been nothing short of captivating, showcasing the depth of creativity within our poetic community{ACW-UA}
After careful deliberation, the judges have reached a unanimous decision, recognizing a poet whose words have transcended the boundaries of expression. This individual has woven a tapestry of emotions, painting vivid imagery with each carefully chosen phrase.
So, without further ado, it is my honor to announce that the winner of our poetry discourse is Miss Oluwadarasimi Kemi Ayomide. Her poem not only resonated with the theme of our event but also left an indelible mark on the hearts of those who had the privilege of experiencing their work.
The Winning Poem
Love; A game of fools
Love is a game, they say,
A game of fools who dance and play,
Forever caught in its tangled web,
Never knowing if they'll win or lose ahead.
For some, it starts off sweet,
A chance encounter that steals the beat,
Of a heart that was once so steady,
Now beating fast and feeling ready.
They take the plunge, headfirst,
Into a world of unknown thirst,
Where love is the potion that consumes,
And they're left wondering if they'll ever resume.
For others, it's a long journey,
Of searching far and wide, for that somebody,
Who completes the jigsaw of their soul,
And makes them feel whole.
But love, oh love, can be a cruel game,
That leaves some hearts shattered in shame,
For every high there's a low to follow,
And every joy has a chance to be hollow.
So let us be fools, for love's sweet appeal,
For the moments of tenderness that we feel,
May we cherish the memories it brings,
And hope that someday it'll give us wings.
For in the game of love, there are no rules,
And sometimes, being a fool is the best tool,
To navigate through the mystery and bliss,
Of a love that is forever caught in the abyss.

Note that, the decision of the judges is not a reflection of the quality of your work but on how well the theme was relayed.
However, we would be giving a certificate of recognition to two shortlisted poets and there would be a publication for the winner on ACW-UA'S blog. These poets are;

Oluwadarasimi Kemi Ayomide is a talented and passionate content writer, story writer, and poet. She was born and raised in Oyo State, and is currently a student at the University of Abuja. From a young age, Oluwadarasimi has been drawn to writing and has always been fascinated by the power of words to capture and convey emotions. She is particularly interested in writing stories and poetry that explore themes of love, loss, and hope. She is currently working on a collection of short stories that capture the beauty and complexity of everyday life.
