Miss Otohinoyi Haneefah, a member of the Association of Creative Writers - University of Abuja Chapter (ACW-UA) won the online ACW-UA POETRY contest on Thursday, 20th July, 2023.

This was made known by the Head of Poetry Department, Miss. Goodness Amarachi Frederick who moderated the Poetry Discourse for the week.

The ACW-UA POETRY ONLINE CONTEST is a weekly platform organised by the ACW-UA POETRY DEPARTMENT where different poets submit  entries within the week. At the end of the week, the best poem is selected and the poet is recognized and celebrated.

Her beautiful poem titled Humans v Ignorance was perfect! 

*Humans vs Ignorance*

 _Oh humans!_

 _Look what you've become_ 

 _A robotic machine in human form._

 __Your ignorance swallowed you whole_ 

 _Basically because you were never bold.__ 

 _Oh humans!_ 

 _Why did you let your_ _ignorance take dominance?_

 _Turns out in the end it was just your resistance_ .

 _You're only human It's okay to make mistakes__ 

 _But you don't learn from them and put your health at stake._ 

 _Oh humans!_ 

 _Reflect on you mistake_ 

 _So that it won't give you a heartache._ 

 _Too much attention on the cellular_ 

 _Now it as become a thing of the "regular."_ 

 _Oh humans!_ 

 _You don't even follow the regulations_ 

 _That served as information._ 

 _You mistook your suffering for sweet joy_ 

 _Now you're happy with being a robotic doll._ 

 _Oh humans!_ 

 _I couldn't care less_ 

 _For you have shown the world how powerful_ _ignorance can be when you're powerless._ 

 _Reflect and don't forget_ 

 _Cause one day you'll surely kick the bucket._ 

 _Oh humans!_ 

 _Ignorance comes in different forms_ 

 _Crawling into your body like a restless worm._ 

 _Do well to avoid this encounter_ 

 _Beware it might be lurking around the corner!_

_Creative and sarcastic, direct and intellectual._

_Sibling of four and I love them all._

_Lover of nature, God and more._

_Who feels the world would end someday._

_Who needs care but cares for others anyway._

_Who gives love, care, and time._

_Who fears losing someone she loves in this lifetime._

_Who would like to go to Paris to seek a world of her own._

_Born in Nigeria, living in Abuja._

_I became a poet to live life to the fullest!_

_That's why I write mostly about my rights!_
