Founded by Prince Ezeabata Chibuzor in 2019 in University of Abuja is an initiative that brings writers, upcoming writers, poets and young Nigerians who are keen and eager to grow their creative skills and develop their interests in Creative writing. It aims at building a generation of young people who shall be relevant, and innovative for the future. ACW is a world were excellence and success is celebrated.

The University of Abuja Students to Represent Nigeria at The Grand Prize for Peace in Africa

 








In what can only be described as a remarkable feat, three students of the University of Abuja have been selected to represent Nigeria at The Grand Prize for Peace in Africa project in Kigali, Rwanda. The event, which is organized by the Pan-African organization for peace and conflict resolution, in conjunction with the University of Abuja, aims to promote peace and conflict resolution across the African continent.

The students, Bello Safinatu Salisu, a 300 level student of the Department of Political Science, Kure Sumaiya Abdulkadir, a 300 level student of the Department of English, and Mr. Prince Ezeabata Chibuzor, the founder of ACW-UA, were chosen from a pool of talented and dedicated young leaders who applied for the opportunity to represent their country at the project.

The inauguration ceremony, which took place at the PG Hall, Faculty of Law, Main Campus, University of Abuja, was attended by notable personalities including the Vice Chancellor of the University, who was represented by Prof. Ubong Bassay, Dr. Abdullahi, a Conflict resolution expert and ambassador for peace in the PAN-AFRICAN organization, Mr Yusuf Idris and Dr. Gloria, from the center for gender and security studies.

The event kicked off with an opening prayer, followed by a welcome address from the representative of the Vice Chancellor, who urged all participants to be advocates of peace in all their endeavors. The Coordinator of PAN-AFRICAN organization for peace and conflicts resolution, Dr Abdullahi, also gave a heart-warming welcome address, where he spoke about his love for Africa and his commitment to using his education and resources to develop the continent.

The ceremony also witnessed the presentation of the certificate of recognition to the University of Abuja Vice Chancellor, which was followed by the issuance of certificates of participation, medals, and official inauguration of the participants. Mr. Prince Ezeabata Chibuzor, on behalf of his fellow participants, presented a brief speech of appreciation to the entire organization, the University of Abuja, and all those present at the event.

The program was rounded off with a cultural dance performance by the Ekombi Dance Troup and a closing prayer, followed by a photo session. In a brief interview after the event, Mr. Prince Ezeabata Chibuzor expressed his excitement and gratitude for the opportunity to represent his country at the project.

This is indeed a moment of great pride for the University of Abuja and Nigeria as a whole. The selection of these young leaders is a testament to their exceptional qualities and commitment to promoting peace and harmony in Africa. We wish them all the best as they embark on this noble journey, and we are confident that they will make us proud with their contributions to the project.
