THE ART OF POETRY
Sometimes,
The words refuse to come
And to write becomes war
The mind seems blank but yet it roams and search
The lips of our pen becomes itchy to write the words
As the desire springs up from within
Like a puzzle we make scattered pieces
And gradually
Our thoughts begin to align
Some may decide to write of ancient tales
Others may create sweet stories of love
Or write words that could heal a wounded heart
Some may write words that could inspire
Or an elegy to a loved one
Nevertheless
Whether we choose to write sweet lines of rhymes
Or pour our thoughts in a free verse
Or bring our fictious ideas to life
The beauty lies in our unique style of art
Our wonderful sense of thoughts
The joy that resonates in us
And the feeling to explore creativity at its peak
BACKGROUND OF THE POEM.
The poem is bore out of the experiences a writer faces in writing his or her thoughts. It was drawn from the idea that most beautiful poems and creative write up by different writers do not always come easily. Most times, writers pass through certain stages of uncertainty and gradually progress into the realization of the ideas we choose to express which results in the formation of wonderful piece of literature.
ABOUT THE POET.
Abah Ojonoma Goodness is a first year student of Law at the University of Abuja, Nigeria. She aspired to become a renowned public speaker and international author.
She writes about contemporary issues that affects our society in general, She loves to write, and participate in debate.
