F/Q 1. What is ASSOCIATION OF CREATIVE WRITERS.
Ans : ASSOCIATION OF CREATIVE WRITERS is an initiative, platform and forum where intellectuals, writers, thinkers and critical analysts are build, encouraged and motivated to be the best of themselves. It was founded at University of Abuja, where it is popularly known as ACW-UA. It is currently in the University of Benin, Umar Musa Yadua University Kastina State, and in primary schools as Creative Writers and Readers Club.
F/Q 2. How do you intend to achieve this.
Ans : We have three Departments in the Association namely POETRY , CHRONICLES and PRESS. In Poetry we groom poets, spoken word artists and skills within that category.
In Chronicles we groom novelist and story writers.
In Press we groom article writers and essayist. This Departments are to concentrate on building individuals based on their skills.
We also develop individual in their speaking skills by directing persons to give speech during our gathering and meetings.
F/Q 3. How about those who can not write yet but wants to join to learn and grow in their writing skills.
Ans: We have coaching classes in which we train, guide and follow up upcoming and passionate writers.
F/Q 4. Which avenue do you use to encourage creativity and intellectual mindset.
Ans: We have weekly writing competitions, online tutorials, debate sections, discussions, motivation talks and annual general writing competitions. Importantly, the ACW objectives is to the personal and self development of its members in all ramifications.
F/Q 5. What landmark have you made since establishment in University of Abuja?
Ans: In September, 2020 we host the Vice Chancellor of the University of Abuja, Professor Abdulrasheed Na'Allah and a host of others in our One-Year Anniversary, which featured Panel discussion, Presentation of Awards and the Launching of our ACW Resurgence Magazine launch.
In addition, we have created and aided a literary environment in University of Abuja and beyond, also encouraging young Nigerians to bring out the best of themselves because we believe the future of our society, nation and the world lies in the hand of young minds.
