Founded by Prince Ezeabata Chibuzor in 2019 in University of Abuja is an initiative that brings writers, upcoming writers, poets and young Nigerians who are keen and eager to grow their creative skills and develop their interests in Creative writing. It aims at building a generation of young people who shall be relevant, and innovative for the future. ACW is a world were excellence and success is celebrated.

ANA dignitaries, others in attendance as ACW-UA launches 1st edition of journal

Dignitaries from the Association of Nigeria Authors are in attendance as the Association of Creative Writers, University of Abuja launched its first edition of a journal publication.

The honouree of the journal launch and former president of ANA, Alhaji Denja Abdullahi and the chairman of the occasion and ANA President, Dr. Uthman Usman (represented by Madam Cynthia) were present at the event.

In his address, Alhaji Abdullahi urged the students to embrace creativity to develop themselves and the society.

“Whatever you want to be, be it. Creativity is interesting. We are in the creative economy. Creativity is originality. Creativity is life. Without it, you cannot be exceptional”, he said.

Sharing his activism and literary engagement as a university student in Jos, the honouree also admonished the students to be informed about their society and voice out against oppression. 

Professor Udenta O. Udenta, a literary scholar and guest speaker at the event also encouraged the students to find their purpose as a generation. “It is either you find it or you betray it”, he said. 

Speaking on behalf of Dr. Uthman, Madam Cynthia spoke on the importance of creativity in society: “By writing, we can change the world.”

In her address, ACW-UA President, Goodness Abah noted that the event was a ceremony for the journal launch, ACW-UA’s 6th anniversary and Final Year Brethren summit.
