A TRIBUTE TO CHIBOK GIRLS
© Aishat Oyetunji popoola
Our life was a perfect circle
We were girls with ambition
Dreams that were big to scare
So we burnt the night candle

But fate played a cruel joke on us
On a dark and starless night
Marked our journey to captivity
And our dreams aborted in there prime

We were trapped in a nightmare
And our lives took a wrong turn
Hopes gradually withered
With dreams flushed down the drain

The world watched us helplessly
Unable to save us from destruction
As we became a shell of what we were
A tale of woe and regret

We became the story that invokes pity
Representing a history of defeat
A product of a failed system that
Couldn't protect our pride.

Aishat is a young and intelligent student of law at the University of Abuja, who is keen to be one of the leading and impactful individuals in the next two decades. She is a writer and is interested in personal development.

LOVE AND HEARTBREAK
® Kuatsea Shagbaor Joseph
Oh I spend all day seeking
But when I find you I keep smiling
Thou day and night might come and go
I for one can swear my love is tame and glow

Diane was the best
But failed the test
My heart was sad
And I was mad

Fame and riches are all ladies want
What ever happened to sweet company dear Aunt
Now I lie and wait for fate
Cause I swear I can never recreate.

Kuatsea Shagbaor Joseph is an student of law at the University of Abuja. A peot, essayist and a budding public speaker, who is willing to change the world.

HUMANITY AS THE GREATEST RELIGION
© Aisha Oyetunji popoola
When the world was created, it was so man could live in peace, love and harmony to co-exist and multiply in all good aspect of live but instead, it has been plunged Into the darkness and chaos of man's greed, desire for violence, love for bloodshed and baseless war of ego and pride.

We say we are brethren, birthed from the same first parents and still nations rise Against each other, the mighty tramples over the weak without hesitation, men dominate and slay there fellow men like sheeps, turning the world into an asslyum filled with raging psychopaths while it keeps moving in the same circle of evil we have created

The world was one but we divided it, we got blinded by our diversity and created an impression of being different while masking it with our faith and belief. We must have forgotten our history, who we were and how we were before now.

Today the world suffers from extreme tribalism and religious intolerance, Israel fights Gaza, The Hutu and Tutsi tribes of Rwanda slew themselves,  creating one of the biggest genocide in the world, Adolf Hitler ordered the killing of many Jews during the second world war, Osma bin Laden terrorised the United state, Nigeria sufferes from economic and social insecurity; farmer's/ herder's clash

It safe to say our wars started from our inability to accept or differences and diversity, the inability to kill the ethnotistic nature in us, our inability to tolerate other faiths and stop feeling self righteous and superior over other, our inability to accept  ourselves for what we truly are.

Why do we fight ourselves even when our religions preaches peace? Why do we condemn people of other race and religion? . All these is simply because we have forgotten the important fact that everyone Is a prisoner of birth, we do not chose where, how and when we want to be born.

Being born a white, black, jew, Christian, Hindu, Muslim is not a matter of choice, we are what we are due to our background and societal shaping so why judge? Why cast a stone at others for living a life they found them self in?

Everyday we claim to remember God,  go to churches and mosques to worship claiming our faiths are the best but we also keep forgetting that the best religion is "humanity". ........ loving for your brother what you love for your self

Humanity depicts good conscience, it is the core of existence that should not be broken, it is the thread that binds us and should not be weaken but where has humanity gone today?  Where is the feeling of brotherhood? That love and care the prophet(S.A.W) had for ummah and his neighbours; the people of the book (jews), the love and respect jess gave to his disciples by washing there feet......... where is that brotherhood preached in our holy books?

The world is failing and we fail along with it as well because we have shaped it into the dungeon it had become, we have failed to uphold the core principle of existence which is humanity.

Humanity should be rediscovered cause only  until we love for our brother what we love for ourself, the world will know no peace.

FOR THE FACT
@Adeife Samuel Alao.
So for the fact
we are boys
must we suffer
at the hands of our other men
whose love and life were given to the world by still another.
I don't pray for hardship.
Please spare me the noise.
